Referring to the extensive capacities of the province, he said: Kermanshah, with an area of 25,000 square kilometers and a population of two millions, has about 50 percent of its employment in the service sector and 25 percent in agriculture, and these statistics show that the province needs to strengthen the share of industry in its economy.
The general governor of Kermanshah, referring to the oil, gas, and petrochemical development document of the province, which has been approved by the Ministry of petroleum, added: In this document, 14 research and operational projects have been defined, a significant portion of which has not yet been implemented, and the full implementation of this document can contribute up to 20 percent to the growth of the province’s gross domestic product.
Habibi, regarding the petrochemicals of the province, said: Currently, three active petrochemicals including Kermanshah Petrochemical, Bistoon Petrochemical, and Polymer Petrochemical are operating in the province, and three other projects are under implementation, and with the operation of these six complexes, Kermanshah will become one of the important petrochemical hubs of the country.
Referring to two important requests of the province from the Industry and Mines Commission, he stated: Prioritizing the development of oil and gas industries in Kermanshah and supporting the full implementation of the development document and providing foreign currency and Rial financial resources for the completion of petrochemical projects, especially the Kermanshah, Eslamabad-e Gharb, and Sonqor petrochemicals, which have physical progress of 85% and more than 60% respectively, are two issues expected from this commission.
The general governor of Kermanshah expressed hope that with the support of the Industry and Mines Commission, the industrial development process of the province will accelerate and significant economic achievements will be made for Kermanshah and the country.
