CEO of Esfahan Oil Refining Company:

EORC will build a dedicated power plant to become energy-independent

the refinery has become somewhat independent in energy supply and that a power plant is under construction to compensate for the imbalance.

At a ceremony honoring Passive (Civil) Defense Week with a focus on chemical defense — hosted by Esfahan oil Refinery and attended by the Deputy for Passive Defense and many provincial passive defense officials — the CEO of Esfahan Oil Refining Company said: through passive defense measures we must minimize potential risks in proportion to the threats.

Gholamreza Bagheri Dizaj, saying that today’s threats are very serious and complex, added that the costs of protecting refinery equipment are very high. He continued that strengthening the resilience of various industries against internal and external threats must be taken seriously.

The CEO of Esfahan Oil Refining Company added that water was the refinery’s primary issue, which has now been partly resolved and seawater has been used at the facility for the past two months. He noted that the refinery has become somewhat independent in energy supply and that a power plant is under construction to compensate for the imbalance.
