Gholamreza Bagheri Dizaj, speaking at a ceremony honoring refinery workers’ families, said: Esfahan Refinery is one of the key centers of the country’s oil industry, and everyone in the facility — from hard-working employees to behind-the-scenes staff and the families who provide a peaceful environment for recharging — plays an important role in advancing this large industry.
He added: Esfahan Refinery was designed with a nominal capacity of 360,000 to 370,000 barrels per day, and today, thanks to the ongoing efforts of staff, that figure has reached an operational capacity of about 425,000 barrels. It is also expected that this will increase to 455,000 barrels in the coming months. In terms of production capacity, Esfahan Refinery will be considered the country’s second refinery after Abadan Refinery, and its technical complexity has in recent years cemented its status as the “golden” refinery.
Bagheri Dizaj, noting the challenges of major overhauls and existing obstacles, added that despite these problems the refinery has achieved significant growth in profitability. He pointed out that if this trend continues through the end of the year, a historic profitability record may be set.
He continued: large projects have been defined which, despite financial issues and current challenges, have been planned carefully based on available liquidity for their execution. Transferring water from the sea to address the water shortage crisis in Esfahan province is an example of effective action against future threats.
In addition to industrial activities, Esfahan Oil Refining Company has also paid serious attention to welfare, cultural, and recreational matters.
