EORC’s RHU project has an important position in the production of low-sulfur fuel oil

RHU project in Isfahan refinery is of great importance in the country and all managers at the national level are following this project

On April 1, 2024 Mohammad Sadegh Azimifar, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, and Mohammad Ali Dadvar, his deputy, visited the Isfahan oil refinery to review the progress of the RHU and RFCC projects and other ongoing projects. The visit coincided with the beginning of the month of Shawwal and Eid al-Fitr. After visiting various parts of the Isfahan refinery, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) congratulated the beginning of the month of Shawwal and said in a meeting with the CEO, deputies and managers of the company that with the tireless efforts of colleagues in Isfahan, the gasoline production capacity in this refinery increased by 2 million liters this year, and fortunately, with this increase in production, the country is witnessing that fuel will be provided to compatriots during Nowruz trips without any problems.

He said given that this year has been named by the Supreme Leader as “Investment for Production”, therefore, to achieve production goals in the current situation, there is a need to attract investors to implement important and impactful projects in the Isfahan Refinery, and managers must define several investment models for the projects.

Referring to the completion of the water transfer and KHT projects at the Isfahan refinery, Azimifar stated that the RHU project, which has an important position in the country for the production of sulfur fuel oil, will be completed with planning. He said the RHU project in Isfahan refiner is of great importance in the country and all managers at the national level are following this project. He continued by operating the RHU project in Isfahan as quickly as possible, in addition to reducing air pollution, the country will witness an increase in profitability and prevent unnecessary costs for importing fuel for the country.

The CEO of NIORDC said by using the capacity of the National Development Fund, foreign finance, the merger of corporate funds, etc., the RFCC and RHU projects can be financed and completed.  Azimifar referred to the efforts of the country’s refineries to produce oil and gas in winter for the country’s power plants, said last year, 41% more liquid fuel was injected into the power plants.

Investors for the Isfahan refinery projects are welcome

Furthermore, the CEO of Isfahan Oil Refining Company pointed out that a lot of financing is needed to complete the RHU and RFCc projects. The company is looking to attract investors in this field. He said injecting credit through the government is also needed, given the nature of these projects, which have national dimensions.

Dr. Gholamreza Bagheri Dizaj added this year, two important projects are underway at the Isfahan Refinery, including major repairs to the gasoline production and distillation unit 3, which will be completed in the first quarter of this year. He said among the projects currently being implemented by this company is the launch of the company’s water projects in June, which will save between 100 and 150 cubic meters of water in the refinery and reduce 10% of the refinery’s water needs from Isfahan water resources.
