Ahmadreza Shafiei, EORC’s Control Systems Modernization Project Manager, said: This project, defined as one of the main priorities of the refinery, faced challenges during the previous management period due to improper prioritization, but it is now being carried out continuously under the current management’s follow-up.
He added: By utilizing the refinery’s specialized workforce, selecting modern instrumentation systems and equipment in line with the latest international standards, efforts are being made to achieve the main goals of this project, namely increasing the productivity of the operational units of the northern refinery with the continuity of activities.
Shafiei announced: The construction of all buildings and control centers of this project is in its final stages. The necessary infrastructure for transferring signals from new equipment to operational sites is also being installed. According to forecasts, the first operational units will enter the commissioning phase by February of 2027, and other units will gradually be equipped with new equipment and launched according to the overhaul schedule of the Esfahan refinery.
Relying on the expertise and cooperation of refinery personnel, experienced contractors, and especially the extensive support of the company’s senior management, Esfahan refinery, as the first refinery in Iran, will ensure its sustainable production for the coming years by replacing old pneumatic systems with modern control systems.
