Marun Petrochemical Company reported net profit of 7,806 billion tomans for the spring-summer period of 2026, a 34% increase from the corresponding period a year earlier, according to its six-month interim financial statements published on Iran’s Codal disclosure system.
The company, listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange under the symbol MARUN, also recorded a significant rise in operating revenue, which reached 60,899 billion tomans, up 71% year on year.
The results, covering the six-month period ended in September 2026, point to continued growth in the company’s sales and earnings, although the slower pace of net profit growth compared with revenue indicates that higher sales have not translated into an equivalent increase in bottom-line profitability.
Gross profit rises 56% to 13.36 trillion tomans
Marun’s gross profit increased by 56% to 13,359 billion tomans during the reporting period.
The growth in gross profit, alongside the 71% rise in operating revenue, reflects an expansion in the company’s business activity. However, assessing the sustainability of this improvement requires a closer look at production costs, sales volumes, product prices and the contribution of export and domestic markets.
Earnings per share reaches 1,201 rials
The company reported earnings per share of 1,201 rials for the six-month period. The figure provides shareholders and market analysts with an additional indicator for assessing Marun’s financial performance and potential returns.
Nevertheless, earnings per share should be considered alongside the company’s profitability, cash flow, investment requirements and future operating outlook rather than as a standalone measure of shareholder returns.
Revenue growth outpaces net profit expansion
Marun’s financial statements show three key indicators of growth: operating revenue rose 71%, gross profit increased 56%, and net profit advanced 34% compared with the same period last year.
The difference between these growth rates is important. While the company generated substantially higher revenue, its net profit expanded at a slower pace, suggesting that the impact of higher sales on final earnings was partly offset by costs and other expenses.
Overall, Marun ended the spring-summer period of 2026 with operating revenue of 60,899 billion tomans, gross profit of 13,359 billion tomans and net profit of 7,806 billion tomans. The results underline the company’s stronger sales performance, while the evolution of margins and costs will remain important in evaluating the quality and durability of its earnings growth.
