Implementation of the ۱,۰۰۰-Megawatt Solar Power Plant Project by EORC

Esfahan Oil Refining Company, has launched the major 1,000-megawatt solar power plant project in the Mourcheh Khort and Kuhpayeh areas of Esfahan

Mashal Pouya Company, a subsidiary of Esfahan Oil Refining Company, has launched the major 1,000-megawatt solar power plant project in the Mourcheh Khort and Kuhpayeh areas of Esfahan, with the aim of increasing renewable energy production and achieving sustainable development goals. The project is being implemented at three sites with capacities of 215, 300, and 485 megawatts.

According to the head of renewable energy at Mashal Pouya, a guaranteed electricity purchase agreement for the power plant was signed with the Ministry of Energy in October 2023, and it is expected that operation of this power plant will lead to secure and recoverable investment in green and clean energy.

The First Phase of the Mourcheh Khort Power Plant to Come Online by the End of This Year

According to Omid Mehrban, the 215-megawatt Mourcheh Khort project has made significant progress. All necessary permits have been obtained, the land has been permanently handed over, and the project’s engineering phase has been completed in all disciplines. Procurement and construction of the transmission line have reached 95 percent, and part of the required cables, panels, inverters, and structures has been supplied; construction operations have also begun. Given the project’s progress of over 25 percent, it is expected that the first phase of this power plant will come online by the end of this year, with full project delivery to be completed within the next 18 months.

Efforts to Accelerate the Kuhpayeh Projects:

For the two 300- and 485-megawatt Kuhpayeh projects, the reissuance of permits is being pursued due to the relocation of the land by the Esfahan Regional Electricity Company. At present, temporary handover of the land has taken place, and engineering operations and part of the construction work, including earthworks, are on the agenda.
