Seyed Javad Fallahian, CEO of Kangan Petrorefining Company, announced in an interview on the sidelines of the 7th Domestic Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Refining Exhibition in Kish that the company’s projects have been significantly accelerated and said: “With the measures taken, the projects will be operational six months earlier than initially planned.”
Fallahian, referring to the status of the Company’s projects before the new management team began, stated: “When we started our activities, there were four active projects in the complex, whose operation schedule was predicted to by spring 2026, but with executive decisions and intensive management of the projects, we tried to significantly reduce this time.”
He described one of the important measures taken as accelerating the supply of equipment, adding: “A significant portion of goods in European countries and China had been stopped due to sanctions and political issues. By changing the mode of transportation from sea to air and carrying out 10 to 12 air shipments, we reduced the time for supplying equipment from about 2 to 2.5 months to about 10 to 15 days.”
Referring to the latest status of the projects, the CEO of Kangan Petrorefinery stated: “The first heavy-duty (HD) petrochemical unit has been completely completed today and will enter the exploitation phase tomorrow. Also, another 1 million tons of olefin petrochemical unit will be launched by March 5.”
According to Fallahian, two other projects, including Soroush Mahestan Kangan (heavy polyethylene) and Negin Mahestan Kangan (light and linear polyethylene), are also planned to enter into operation by September of next year with financing of 30 million euros for each. Upon completion of these two projects, 600,000 tons of polyethylene will be produced per year and 660 million euros income will be generated.
