Construction of Kermanshah’s Petrochemical Phase 2, will double its urea and ammonia production capacity

The production capacity of urea and ammonia will be doubled, and this is a very big and blessed event that will happen in Kermanshah

Dr. Zahir Heydarinejad, CEO of Kermanshah Petrochemical, has said Kermanshah Petrochemical Industries Company is one of the largest urea producers in Iran, especially in the west of the country, which produces both urea and ammonia. Most of its shares belong to the Social Security Organization of the Armed Forces and its retirees. In addition to these legal shareholders, the company also has approximately 50,000 real shareholders.

Regarding the priorities at Kermanshah Petrochemical, he added that the company is currently constructing Phase 2 of urea and ammonia production. This is exactly the same as Phase 1 and will produce 660 thousand tons of urea capacity and 398 thousand tons of ammonia. The production capacity of urea and ammonia will be doubled, and this is a very big and blessed event that will happen in Kermanshah. The CEO of Kermanshah Petrochemical further said that by creating this new capacity, the company can also provide an opportunity for employment for specialized and educated youths in Kermanshah province. The physical progress of Phase 2 is not desirable and is about 70 percent, and the company has considered a special working group for this issue. It also has the support of Parsian Oil and Gas Development group (POGDC) and its CEO, Mr. Jafar Hashemi, which will definitely increase the speed of the project’s progress.

Heydarinejad also noted that the foreign exchange and rial financing of the Phase 2 project of the Kermanshah Petrochemical Complex has been completed. Furthermore, most of its equipment has been purchased and its civil, construction and engineering activities must be expedited so that the project can be inaugurated.

 The CEO of Kermanshah Petrochemical emphasized that one of the important points of priority at Kermanshah Petrochemical is to utilize the power and capacity of knowledge-based complexes, especially knowledge-based complexes, and academics and experts in Kermanshah province. The company is also developing a program so that it can use knowledge-based complexes in the country, especially in Kermanshah province, both in the domestication of equipment and in the localization of knowledge and technology for urea and ammonia production.

 On the sidelines of the 6th Kish Exhibition to Support Domestic Manufacturing in the Oil and Petrochemical Industry, several memorandums of understanding were signed with knowledge-based complexes in the field of domestically manufactured equipment and localization of part of the knowledge and technology so that it can be used in the production of urea and ammonia in Kermanshah Petrochemical.
