Hamed Yazdian, a representative of the people of Isfahan in the parliament and a member of the Agriculture, Water, Natural Resources, and Environment Commission, has visited the Isfahan Refinery and its plans to complete the value chain.

He said during the visit to the Isfahan Refinery, demands and plans were expressed bilaterally, which will be followed up. The representative of the people of Isfahan and Varzaneh in the parliament emphasized the parliament tries to make sure that industries can have their production process for the country while observing environmental requirements. In this regard, given that the Isfahan Refinery is responsible for more than a quarter of the country’s fuel production, there should be no disruption in this process. The issue of observing environmental requirements is also important so that this industry can become a green industry.

He stated that given the fuel imbalance that has now forced power plants to use diesel fuel, all oil refining companies are expected to make more efforts to provide sulfur-free diesel fuel. Refinery value chain projects such as RHU and RFCC are aimed at reducing desulfurization, which is hoped will be successful so that there is no pollution to the environment. Yazdian stated that the parliament will have more follow-ups to solve the problems of the refinery and industries so that the companies can have a dynamic economy for Isfahan province and bring a healthy environment to the people.

He also added that all the representatives of the province have serious demands from all industries, both in the public and private sectors, that they must comply with environmental standards. In recent weeks, representatives of various agencies involved in the Clean Air Law in the parliament (agriculture, water, environment) presented their plans to the parliament. The role of various agencies in pollution control is clear, and the demand is serious. Therefore, there will be no compromise with anyone in determining the role of various agencies. Regarding water supply for industries, he added that the parliament is concerned about supplying water to the province, and the Isfahan Refinery is also one of the companies that owns shares in this project. The refinery has also had contracts in the past years regarding wastewater that need to be followed up, and the necessary actions will be taken to meet the water needs of industries through alternative projects.

65% progress of the RHU project

The CEO of Isfahan Petrorefining Company also emphasized the prioritization of Isfahan refinery projects in order to eliminate fuel imbalance and improve environmental indicators with a special focus on cash flow and financing. He stated that the RHU environmental project is also considered a very high priority for the company with the same approach. Gholamreza Bagheri Dizaj added that with the completion of this unit, 350 tons of sulfur will be removed from the residue of distillation towers daily, and in return, 72 thousand barrels of low-sulfur and environmentally friendly heavy fuel products and 11 thousand barrels of diesel will be produced. He Pointed out that the RHU project has progressed by 65% so far, he announced the prediction of launching the first part of this project in the first half of 2027. He said after the implementation of the RHU project and water supply, the RFCC project and other ancillary projects will be implemented in the company.
