CEO of Isfahan Petrorefinery Holding

All development plans for Isfahan Refinery have been transferred to Bandar Abbas

No measure is undertaken outside the standards of the environmental organization Isfahan Petrorefinery Holding

Rahbord Energy: The CEO of Isfahan Petrorefinery Holding has said the company needed to change its course of action; otherwise, it would have been eliminated from the market. Ghadiri made the remarks in a meeting in Energy City, which was held with the participation of several Iranian MPs as well as the deputy oil minister.

Ghadiri noted that since Iran possesses 10% of the world’s energy reserves, it can make maximum use of this opportunity through creativity and innovation.

He noted that, due to strategic management, the organizational structure of the company was revolutionized. He said the infrastructure of Isfahan Petrorefinery Holding is undergoing fundamental changes based on artificial intelligence. According to Ghadiri, the changes will help the company get preserved.

He highlighted the fact that thousands of products can be extracted from crude oil, but unfortunately, Iran is now only exporting crude material. The CEO of Isfahan Petrorefinery Holding stated that, just as the leader of the Islamic Revolution has noted, the urgent measure that needs to be taken is moving along the value chain. He said Ayatollah Khamenei has issued a decree on a sea-oriented economy, and this has pushed the company to move in this direction. He said Isfahan Petrorefinery is now connected to the rail network and is undertaking projects in the field of transportation. He said the consortium has 300 knowledge-based companies, and good measures are being taken in the fields of solar and wind energy and fast chargers.

He further stated that the company now has projects worth 6.2 billion euros and noted that they are in line with the country’s passive defense measures. They are also designed to eliminate the consumption of potable water, reduce energy consumption by 12% and water consumption by 75%, construct a solar power plant, and improve the quality of products. He also stated that the development of the company will be implemented in Bandar Abbas. According to Ghadiri, the value chain of LPG, propylene, and LED is being created. He praised the company’s respect for environmental criteria and said the new sulfur unit is operating without a furnace.

Isfahan Petrorefinery will provide standard fuel for ships by 2026

Ghadiri said that currently, due to a lack of standard ship fuel, Iranian ships get fuel in other countries. However, by 2026, by extracting 400 tons of sulfur and installing fuel tanks in Shahid Rajaei wharves, the ships can get fuel here.

He noted that the company has attracted 2 billion euros in investment and said the investment will be used in the value chain of the refinery in Bandar Abbas. He said the company will provide 20% of the investment, and the rest will be supplied in the form of usance. He said the company aims to establish 300 knowledge-based companies. He noted that Isfahan Petrorefinery is now developing a master control unit that will be integrated into the kerosene refining unit that extracts 40 tons of sulfur per day.

 Stating that 10,000 young people with a bachelor’s degree and above in Isfahan are working in these companies, he noted that the company is trying to solve the unemployment problem of experts and educated people in Isfahan as much as possible.

Establishing Naqsh-e Jahan Oil and Energy Campus in the private sector for the first time

Ghadiri referred to the creation of the Naqsh-e Jahan Oil and Energy Campus in the private sector for the first time and said R&D works are being implemented in this complex in Isfahan while the products are produced outside the complex with the financial support of the company.

Ghadiri highlighted the social role of the company and said the petrorefinery is building 50 schools in Isfahan province and planting two hectares of land.

Referring to the donations of refineries to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, he noted that 200 billion tomans have been donated to the Medical Sciences Complex for the payment of salaries and prescriptions, and a further 50 billion tomans have been allocated to pay the salaries of teachers.

He further said a $100 billion contract has been signed with the Environment Agency to support the province’s wildlife and noted that each company in the holding is supporting a wildlife species. The CEO of Isfahan Petrorefienry also referred to the measures to satisfy the company’s needs. In this regard, he said 700 houses have been allocated to the company’s employees and workers.

Measures taken for financial discipline

Ghadiri further said proper measures have been taken with regards to financial discipline. He also noted that the petrorefinery has ventured into value chains and said the company will be the first to accomplish all the set goals by 2026-2027. They also said all the measures taken by the holding are within the standards set by the Environment Protection Agency.

Referring to last year’s fire at the refinery, Ghadiri noted that 10 fire engines have been purchased and new fire stations are being built in the complex.

The old refinery is being renovated

He said the old refinery, which dates back to 50 years ago, is being renovated, and he added that the entire pneumatic system of this refinery will be integrated into the latest control system with domestic technology.

He also noted that the holding pollution in Isfahan city is 0.01% and in the province is 0.02%. He further added that two measuring devices are being purchased, one of which will be installed in the refinery, and its monitors will be placed in front of the public throughout the Isfahan province. Stating that all the furnaces are connected to the environment online, he said five analyzers were installed two years ago. He emphasized that the amount of pollutants in the new units will be less than the previous ones.
