On the 2nd International Congress on the Development and Empowerment of Industry

The CEO of Isfahan Petro-Refinery was chosen as director-elect in the field of development and empowerment of industry

The more a company is faster to learn, the easier it can reach a better competitive position

Rahbord Energy: Given the designation of the current year by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as the “surge in production with people’s participation” and the necessity and the importance of growth and development, the scientific association of industrial engineering of Islamic Azad University, central branch, held the 2nd International Congress on the Development and Empowerment of Industry on May 14th. The Congress was held with a focus on technological approaches and smartification and took place in IRIB International Conference Center.

The Congress was held with the aim of creating the appropriate ground for knowing, making, developing and stabilizing influential steps in the chains of industry empowerment. The chain includes  research and development, management and growth in production. The congress focused on four main issues including resilience and the improvement of the operation of sustainable supply chains for industry, the role of digital development and data-centered management in competitive industry, technological approach and people’s participation in the production of housing units and the role of women in the development of industries. The congress included wide-ranging debates between private and public sectors and the other relevant organizations. Isfahan Petro-Refinery actively participated in the congress and its CEO was one of the keynote speakers. The refinery also received the golden statue and the certificate of appreciation of the Congress.

The operationalization of 23 water projects by Isfahan Petro-Refinery

On the sidelines of the 2nd International Congress on the Development and Empowerment of Industry, the CEO of Isfahan Petro-Refinery noted that the holding’s target is to join the 500 top international firms by 2026/2027. He added that in order to grow and reach the envisaged perspectives, it is necessary to define financial sources wisely.

Mohsen Ghadiri noted that 460 projects worth 6.2bn euros have been defined and added that in today’s world in order not to fall behind, the country needs to have access to technologies. Sanctions have prevented the procurement of technologies but despite that Isfahan Petro-Refinery has managed to purchase 100mn euros worth of equipment.

He also touched on the issue of readiness to learn and said this quality can help companies attain a competitive position and overtake its rivals. He further added that in order to join the 500 top international firms, it’s been tried to procure the relevant licences and technical know-how. Ghadiri added that by considering and reviewing the latest technologies at the level of other companies, the holding strives to solve its problems and technical deficiencies. He noted that management is the most important part of this process. He said by proper management and technological advances, Iran can have an 8% growth rate and increase its production through people’s participation as it has been envisaged by the leader of the Islamic Revolution.

He further noted that by inauguration the DHT plan as a megaproject will boost the production of Euro 5 gas oil by 100,000 barrels in the holding. He added that the project was inaugurated 16 month earlier than planned. He said the holding is now delivering 20mn liters of Euro 5 gas oil to the mega cities of Iran.

Railway for Isfahan refinery under construction

Dr. Ghadiri further noted that Isfahan Petro-Refinery has managed to set up an airline firm and added that a railway project is under construction by the holding company. This, he said, is important given the fact Isfahan Petro Refinery is considering to export its products. And through the railway, the products can easily reach the country’s ports and wharves.

He also referred to the hydrogen purification project which separates 40 tons of sulphur from kerosene. He said the project was completed in 13 months. This, he said, was the first of its kind in terms of timing and volume. He noted that the project has 31,000 barrels of kerosene desulfurization. He said the project will be inaugurated officially later this year.

He further referred to the speed of the completion of projects in Isfahan Petro Refinery and said an important task is being implemented by a unit operated by female experts.

He also noted that the holding is now entering value chains in a professional manner and said ligering projects are now being activated . He said one of those projects was inactive for 15 years but it will be inaugurated by the end of the current Persian year.

Ghadiri also referred to the construction of a parking space with a capacity to hold 2400 cars. He also noted that the company developed plans to plant trees in 1150 hectares of land within 3 years. He concluded by saying that 23 water projects have been defined by Isfahan Petro Refinery holding and said the holding has managed to turn the weak point into points of strength.

It must be pointed out that Mohammad Dehbidian, the deputy of human resource development and director of public relations and international affairs, and Nazari, the planning director of Isfahan Petro-Refinery, were also present at the event.

The golden statue and the certificate of appreciation of the Congress were given to the aforementioned deputies.
