Historic record of profitability at Kermanshah Petrochemical in Spring-Summer of 2025

These figures indicate the company has not only overcome obstacles resulting from sanctions and logistical constraints but has also successfully implemented a policy of customer diversification and direct sales channels

According to the official Codal system report, Kermanshah Petrochemical Industries — a subsidiary of the Ministry of Defense’s industrial sector — managed in the first half of 1404 (March-September 2025) to earn as much profit as it did for the entire 1403 fiscal year; a record unprecedented in the history of this large urea-producing complex in western Iran.

While the country’s economy faces the sharpest external pressures and financial and export constraints, the complex has rewritten all its historical indicators and presented a new picture of national capability in the economic war.

Breakthrough on three fronts: production, exports, and sales price

Analysis of the data published on Codal shows:

  1. A 25% increase in urea production volume compared with the same period last year;
  2. More than a 40% increase in export value through development of target markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia;
  3. Recording the highest urea selling price in the country — above Pardis, Shiraz, and Masjed Soleyman complexes — which placed Kermanshah Petrochemical at the top of the sales-value table.

These figures indicate the company has not only overcome obstacles resulting from sanctions and logistical constraints but has also successfully implemented a policy of customer diversification and direct sales channels.

A managerial narrative on the economic front

Zahir Heidari-Nejad, the young CEO with oil-industry experience and a strategic view of international markets, has redefined the growth path from production to market.

He and his specialized team, relying on domestic capabilities and localized technology in critical production areas, have turned Kermanshah Petrochemical into a model of dynamic management within the country’s defense-related industries.

The success of the first half of 1404 is not just a financial record, but a symbol of industrial resilience against the imposed economic war; where the Ministry of Defense’s workers in the production trenches have raised the flag of efficiency and national trust.

Kermanshah Petrochemical sees this path as only the beginning — a route that, with continued productivity initiatives and export diversification, can position Iran’s urea industry at the top of the region.

Breaking records in six months: 122% of last year’s sales achieved

In its September report, Kermanshah Petrochemical delivered a performance beyond market and analyst expectations. According to Codal data, the company ignited its production-and-sales turbocharger with a stunning 174% increase in revenues.

While Kermanshah’s sales in the first half of 1403 were only 3,000 trillion rials , this figure rose to 8,200 billion rials in the first half of this year; in other words, the company in just the first six months of the current year sold more than the total revenue of last year (6,700 billion rials). This means achieving 122% of last year’s revenue in half a year — a notable and even rare accomplishment in the unsettled petrochemical industry.

On the other hand, the company’s production grew by 12% and its physical sales increased by 38%. This simultaneous growth in production, sales, and revenue shows that Kermanshah has pursued a dynamic path not only in resource management and efficiency but also in marketing and consolidating its position in the urea market.

At a time when many petrochemical units struggle with feedstock supply and export pressures, Kermanshah Petrochemical has, through a smart strategy and focus on efficiency, moved away from stagnation and returned to growth — a growth that now catches the attention of capital market analysts.
