CEO of Isfahan Oil Refining Company:

Rapid progress of Isfahan Refinery RHU project

the two phases of this project will continue at full capacity

The CEO of Isfahan Oil Refining Company has stated that the company’s fuel oil upgrading project (RHU) is being implemented quickly and without any problems. He noted that the only obstacle in the implementation of this plan is the failure to provide some items needed by the project on time. According to him, this is due to failure of some suppliers to fulfill their promises.

Gholamreza Bagheri Dizaj, Deputy CEO of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, visited the Isfahan Oil Refining Company (RHU) project on May 15, and added the lack of financial resources has not stopped the completion of  this project. He also noted the implementation process of this project is regularly reviewed and evaluated weekly in the presence of Dadvar, Deputy CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) and other project stakeholders.

Bagheri Dizaj added based on the statistics provided, the amount of goods entering the project site in the last two months is equal to the total of the previous six months; so that about 3,000 tons of goods have entered the project, and as soon as the work fronts are opened, the implementation operations will be pursued more quickly. He expressed his appreciation for the support of the Deputy Minister and the efforts of all executive, engineering, supervisory, and financial bodies, especially Mr. Dadvar, Deputy CEO of NIORDC. He expressed hope that the first phase of this project will be put into operation next year or at most a few months after that.

The CEO of Isfahan Oil Refining Company, rejecting rumors about the project being stopped, said the first and second phases of this project have not started at the same time. According to him,  the first phase started in 2019 and the second phase in 2022, and naturally their completion times will be three years apart. He noted that if financing is released, the two phases of this project will continue at full capacity. The Deputy CEO of NIORDC also stated in this visit that the project is being implemented at a good pace and that the goods are being sent to the project site at a faster pace. He said the company implementing this project also has a good management of the project implementation and is closely following the progress of the work. Mohammad Ali Dadvar evaluated the speed of implementation of this plan as desirable and expressed hope that in the next two weeks an increase will be registered in the number of active human resources at the project site.

He said currently, a significant amount of work has been done and the goods that have arrived at the site are being installed on site without interruption, and there is reason to hope that this project will be put into operation in the spring of next year.
