On the first day of the Markazi Province Oil and Petrochemical Industry Specialized Exhibition, Dr. Zandiyeh Vakili visited the Shazand Petrochemical pavilion. On the first day of the 4th Markazi Province Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Specialized Exhibition, Dr. Mehdi Zandiyeh Vakili, the General Governor, along with a group of provincial officials, attended the Shazand Petrochemical pavilion and learned about the company’s latest activities and achievements.
During this visit, Qasem Saki, Deputy Director of Production and Head of Shazand Petrochemical Complex, while welcoming the visitors, provided explanations about the status of the complex and said based on the initial design, Shazand Petrochemical, as the producer of the most diverse polymer and chemical products in the country, should receive its feed (naphtha) from the Shazand and Isfahan refineries and through a pipeline connected to these two refineries. He added that, unfortunately, based on current policies, the feed received by this complex, which exceeds 2,700 tons per day, is received from other domestic sources, which has caused an 80 percent increase in feed costs.
Referring to the increase in the price of naphtha, he said that the price of the complex’s feedstock is calculated based on FOB Persian Gulf, while the price of the company’s products. This is based on global standards and is determined by order and based on the domestic market rate by the relevant authorities. According to him, this has caused a decrease in profitability and an increase in costs, which requires the authorities to take serious decisions in this regard so that the company does not suffer further losses. Mohsen Jandaghi, Director of Public Relations and International Affairs of Shazand, also pointed out the breaking of the production record of this complex and said that through the collective efforts of the company’s managers, employees, and hardworking workers, the company has witnessed an unprecedented record of 105 percent of production according to the plan. Emphasizing the increase in the costs of Shazand Petrochemical Company, he called for effective decisions to be taken by the authorities to reduce the costs imposed on this company.
The Director of Public Relations and International Affairs of Shazand Petrochemical Company referred to the company’s environmental projects and said that Shazand Petrochemical Company is one of the leading companies in this field, with its unparalleled green space in the country’s industries and the implementation of numerous environmental projects.
Markazi General Governor Zandiyeh Vakili also appreciated the actions and efforts of all managers and workers of Shazand Petrochemical Company and promised to follow up on the proposed issues.
It is worth noting that the fourth specialized exhibition of oil, gas, refining, and petrochemicals of Markazi Province was held from December 31 to January from 3 to 9 p.m. at the permanent venue of the Markazi Province International Exhibition.
