Digital transformation and artificial intelligence are on the agenda of Nouri Petrochemical

Gholamreza Jamshidi, CEO of Nouri Petrochemical, has attended the Petrofan Seminar. Regarding the company’s brand promotion strategy at the global level, he said holding the Petrofan Seminar is one of the good innovations of Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group (PGPIG), which is hoped would have a positive impact on the country’s petrochemical industry in the areas of licensing and supplying equipment and catalysts, and that it would achieve the desired self-sufficiency.
Jamshidi pointed out that Nouri Petrochemical is one of the good and large complexes in the country’s petrochemical industry, but with a minimal profit margin that pays 92 percent of its costs to the Ministry of petroleum for feed. He added that when he first took responsibility for Nouri Petrochemical, he put three programs on the agenda. First, to increase the feed we receive from the Ministry of petroleum and Phases 22 and 23 and Phase 12 as much as possible, and subsequently to see an increase in the production capacity of reformate and heavy end.
The CEO of Nouri Petrochemical also said the projects include heavy cut sweetening and Zero-Flaring. It has also defined a solar power plant project that was approved in the initial stage. In this project, it will produce electricity using 400 megawatt solar panels, which can greatly help the country in addressing the energy imbalance. The company has started with a 200-megawatt plant in the first step. The three projects are serious projects of the company so that it can accomplish great things with the support of shareholders and the supply of food on the other hand.
Jamshidi added that Nouri Petrochemical has two issues. It is a refinery that helps the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) in balancing and supplying the country’s fuel and a petrochemical complex that provides inter-complex feed for downstream companies, considering that there is a chain from Jam to Nouri, Nouri to Pars, and Pars to Aryasassol, and interactions with the Buali Sina and Bandar Imam complexes. Therefore, in this process, by increasing production and, most importantly, increasing the discussion of marketing, it is considering exporting Nouri and products that can be exported and that can help the country earn foreign exchange. With the help of PGPIG’s Industry Trade Company, it will develop new markets and sell all Nouri products in high-priced markets.
He also noted that providing inter-complex feed to petrochemicals is one of the duties and tasks of Nouri Petrochemical for the downstream chain, and furthermore, supplying the country’s fuel is a duty for Nouri and Buali due to the needs of the people. He said it’s hoped that it can contribute to helping the country both upstream and downstream and resolve the issues. Naturally, the special task is production and export and helping to supply feedstock between petrochemical complexes such as Pars, Arias, Sasol, and Jam. Therefore, today it has to help the country in two dimensions. It intends to witness an increase in the production of the complex with more production and with the support provided by the Ministry of Petroleum and more feedstock that the National Gas Company will give it from Phases 22 and 23 and Phase 12.
Regarding the zero-flaring and Euro 6 diesel projects, Jamshidi said the company’s efforts are focused on advancing the heavy-cut sweetening unit by the end of the year. Currently, these two projects are progressing well, and the company is engaged in the procurement of essential parts for them. It is also at the beginning of the zero-flaring discussion to quickly advance the project with a schedule and financing. Regarding his strategy for digital transformation and artificial intelligence in this complex, the CEO of Nouri Petrochemical emphasized that there is a need for the petrochemical industry to move towards digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
According to him, the company has defined 7 projects in this field and started two of them, which are being finalized, and the research and development department of Nouri Petrochemical has one of the best research and development units in the country’s petrochemical industry due to its good relations with universities, industries, and innovative complexes.
